General Grant to be Special Guest with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra in Vicksburg NMP for the Annual Memorial Day Concert

General Grant will be the featured guest of the annual Memorial Day concert in the Vicksburg National Military Park, at 7:00 pm on Saturday, May 24.  The concert is free and will be in the Vicksburg NMP Visitor Center parking lot.  Parking will be provided in nearby areas with shuttle services.Vicksburg 2014 symphony-at-Sunset

The Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Crafton Beck, will be performing a program of patriotic songs in the first half of the concert with General Grant introducing and describing the background of the songs.  During the intermission, the General will be talking to the audience and answering questions from them.  The second half of the concert will feature modern, light tunes.  Audience estimates from last year are about 5000 in attendance.Grant at MUS, Jan. 25, 2013
