The Last 24-Hours: Grant and Pemberton Tell All
Curt Fields and Morgan Gates will again take their places as Ulysses S. Grant and John C. Pemberton as they discuss the experiences each commander faced during the Vicksburg Campaign. Fields and Gates are considered the preeminent scholars of their respective personas and will bring life to these historic figures using their own words to tell the story of the siege and surrender of Vicksburg.
A theatrical performance will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Surrender Monument at 11:00AM during a ranger program.
The first person program titled “The Last 24-Hours” will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Visitor Center auditorium at 2:00PM.
General Grant and General Pemberton (Morgan Gates) hope you will be able to join them on the field at Vicksburg on the weekend of July 1st/2nd, instant, and watch them talk under the Oak tree on the Surrender Knoll on Saturday and Sunday at 11 am
Then in the Visitor Center auditorium at 2 pm each day, they will present their program: “Vicksburg-Just 24 Hours” telling the dramatic story of the messages and maneuverings between them and their armies to bring about the surrender of Vicksburg, “The Key to the War” all transpiring in just 24 hours!
