Please join General Grant at the annual celebration of Grant Days! at his Boyhood Home of Georgetown, Ohio, for a weekend of festivities and fun as guest speakers and reenactors step forth from the past to tell of General and President Grant’s life and times from Georgetown to the White House!
THURSDAY EVENING. April 26th; festivities will open at the Methodist church with Historian Chris Burns talking of “Grant and the Minorities”. The talk will be held in the Georgetown United Methodist church fellowship hall at 109 E. State Street. It is free to the public. Please come, as General and Julia Grant will.
FRIDAY EVENING, April 27th: at the Gaslight theater, Dr. Curt Fields will present his One-Man Play “Grant: Unconditional Surrender” based on Grant’s Memoirs and his Presidency and life afterward; leading to his Memoirs. Cost for the Play is $5.00 and students are free. The Gaslight Theater is located at: 301 S. Main Street.
SATURDAY, April 28th: will see a full schedule of period entertainment and speakers throughout the day and end with a memorial to the favorite sons of Brown County, Ohio soldiers who died in the Civil War. It is a moving and fulfilling tribute to those men who left home and did not return to Brown County. The U. S. Grant Boyhood Home is located at: 219 E. Grant Avenue. All of this is free to the public
