Please plan to come to an exciting weekend of Civil War History celebrating Helena, Arkansas, and the ‘other’ battle that was fought on the 4th of July, 1863! Join General Grant and many re-enactors as they put on artillery demonstrations and fight battles as they were fought to control Helena and movement on the mighty Mississippi river.
School Day will be held Friday, April 13th, as well as other exhibits and demonstrations during the day. Saturday will have tours of the soldier’s camps; General Grant will speak three timed during the day; a battle will be fought at Fort Curtis at noon; and a concert will be played at Kelley Park by the Ozark Highballers. Another battle will be fought from 2-3 pm on Sunday afternoon.
