General Grant will visit Vicksburg to attend the Downtown Concert on Sunday the 3rd and spend the 4th of July in Vicksburg NMP

General Grant will return to Vicksburg for the anniversary of the surrender by General Pemberton to General Grant on the 4th of July,1863.

The General will attend the free concert by the National Park Service Centennial Band.  The Band is composed of Park Rangers and New Orleans musicians.  The Concert will be in Downtown Vicksburg on Catfish Row and will begin at 6pm.  It will end at 9pm.

General Grant will be in the Park, on the battlefield, all day on the 4th to greet visitors and discuss the events leading up to the surrender and the surrender itself.  He hopes that all, who may, will attend these events, visit Vicksburg NMP and enjoy the Hallowed Ground that is Vicksburg.
