General Grant will return to Dover, Tennessee, on Saturday morning, Feb’y 18, to honor the hallowed dead buried in the Fort Donelson National Cemetery in Dover, TN.  The General will assist in laying the wreath of honor and has been asked to make a few appropriate remarks.  He is honored to be asked to do so.  The program will begin promptly at 11:00 am.

He is to join the honor guard from the Fort Donelson Sons of Union Veterans, Camps #62 and #64 in laying the wreath.  Confederate troops will join them in honoring the Federal dead of Fort Donelson.

After the Federal ceremony, General Grant and the Federal troops will be honored to join Confederate troops at 1:30 pm, at the Confederate Soldier monument for a ceremony to remember and honor the Confederate dead of the battle.

General Grant invites all, who would so honor and may be able to attend this solemn ceremony on the most hallow’d of ground, to come and be part of our History.
